Sarah Reinertsen to Speak at 2009 Sig Christmas Lunch

The San Diego Sigma Chi Alumni Chapter invites you and your sweetheart to join us for our 2009 Christmas luncheon with our special guest Sarah Reinertsen.

Sarah Reinertsen is one of the most powerful and inspirational young women of her generation. Sarah is a magnetic woman with a potent message of strength and perseverance. She has blazed a new trail of opportunity and redefined expectations for others around the world.

Missing her leg above the knee since the age of seven Sarah has never let that stop her from pursuing her goals no matter how big. She is a woman of spirit, strength and determination who has always overcome any challenge to meet her goal.

Sarah is an athlete, motivational speaker, role model and an advocate for change. She is the First Female Amputee to finish the Ironman Triathlon Championships/Kona Hawaii 2005--- ESPY winner 2006---USTA's Best Female Disabled Triathlete, Seen on "The Amazing Race" CBS session #10 In 2007 Sarah was given the Outstanding Young Californian Award. In 2008 Sarah received the Women Who Mean Business Courage Award and was honored in 2009 with the Cool Women Award from the Girl Scouts of America. Sarah has written a book "In A Single Bound" it tells a touching, funny , and honest memoir about a feisty little girl who at the age of seven had her leg amputated and how and why she became a world-class athlete and television personality.

Sarah is woman defined buy courage. She is guided by a simple but powerful mantra: Don't ever give up on what you believe in. Not once. Not ever!

ALL Sigma Chi alumni are welcome no matter if you went to school on the east coast, west coast, in the Midwest or the South. Spread the word and please pass this invitation along to any alumni who would like to come.

If you've paid your local alumni dues, lunch is $15.00. If you haven't paid your local alumni dues, lunch is $20.00. (Dues are $30 and payable at anytime.) Regardless if you've paid your dues or not, wives, girlfriends, sweethearts are $15.00. All monies will be collected at the door. For this holiday season, we ask that attendees please bring any canned goods for those in need.
