Brother Villalpando Announces Publication of his Second Book

"The Illicit American" by Dr. Vic Villalpando

Brother Vic Villalpando, Delta Xi '60, winner of the Jay E.Minton Award in 1984, was editor of Sig-Natures for nearly ten years in the '70s and 80s and is a Life Loyal Sig, announces the publication of his second book that was just released by iUniverse Publishing. iUniverse hails the book a tour de force that boldly reveals the underbelly of society where unbridled greed, power, lust, and violence are a daily fare for callous scoundrels who exploit hapless humans for profit.

"The Illicit American" is a true story about Raymond Casimiro Archuleta, a once honorable man who is forced by poverty into smuggling illegal aliens in order to support his destitute family. Vowing to engage in the illicit profession only until he is on his feet financially, Cass is seduced by power and greed culminating in the creation of the largest smuggling ring of human cargo in the U.S. from his base in San Diego from 1969 to 1972. The dramatic epic is spiced and energized by Cass' zany cohorts, and his incredible empire is eventually toppled by a quirk of fate.

Completeing his undergraduate studies at George Pepperdine University and SDSU, Vic received his doctorate in Human Behavior from United States International University--San Diego. He was selected by Archuleta to write his amazing saga because of his experience as a novelist, author of numerous film scripts and musicals, having written his doctoral dissertation on the subject of illegal immigration, his life in the Marine Corps, and his knowledge of the Hispanic vernacular and local region. Vic retired from San Diego County Government as a top level administrator, and now writes full-time. "The Illicit American" can be obtained through www.iuniverse.com, 1-800-288-466, and bookstores.
