Alumni Luncheon

Please join us Friday March 13 as our speaker will be Commodore Joe Torres from the Navy Yacht Club in Coronado. Commodore Torres is the newly minted leader of the club and will share his experiences in the Navy and the current events and history of the Navy Yacht Club on the Strand in Coronado.

Originally from the Bronx in New York, Joe joined the Navy at age 17 and served a 20 year career. Then, and not yet ready to retire, he joined the Oceanside Police department. He retired after another 20 year career, this time as a Police Detective. The Navy Yacht Club has a 62 year history serving the sailing community with races in different classes, social events and a program for disabled sailors to keep them enjoying their time on the water. Come hear Commodore Torres share this history and his passion about being on the water.
