Alumni Lunch - March 2024 | Significant Sig Ray Bender Ph.D.

Please join San Diego Sigma Chi Alumni for our 2024 March lunch.

Ray is an internationally known speaker, author, and consultant with over 30 years experience advising Executives on organizational issues.

His areas of expertise are leadership, creating alliances, and organizational change.

He has been a Consulting Instructor at IBM's Advanced Business Institute, a Vice President of Research for Gartner Group's Executive Program, and a Senior Lecturer in the Mc Coy Business School at Texas State University.

Ray has co-authored two books: Culture.Com and I Should Be Burnt Out by Now.

He lives in La Jolla with his wife, Peg Neuhauser, a Tri-Delt from Miami (Ohio) University.

Most importantly, Ray is a member of the San Diego Alumni chapter of Sigma Chi, a Significant Sig, and a Life Loyal Sig

Ray's presentation is titled "Pointing Them North"

This session will discuss the historical perspective of the Texas trail drives from 1866 to 1890. It will examine the four societal forces (economic, political - legal, technology, and social - cultural) that shaped the industry. The trail drives moved 7 to 8 million head of cattle north, over 1 million horses, and generated over $32 billion in 2024 dollars In the words of the Rawhide TV series, head um up, move um out.
