Sigma Chi’s Signature Celebration Event

First convened in 1857 in Cincinnati, Grand Chapter is Sigma Chi International Fraternity’s signature biennial celebration event. Sigs from throughout North America and their guests gather to celebrate the International Fraternity and their brotherhood, as well as to honor Fraternity award winners, crown the International Sweetheart and elect members of the organization’s Executive Committee who will serve during the two-year period following the event.

Grand Chapter also is the name given to the supreme legislative body of the Fraternity that convenes every two years during Grand Chapter. It is comprised of one delegate from each undergraduate and alumni chapter, the Grand Consul and the past Grand Consuls. The Grand Chapter has the power to alter or amend the constitution, statutes and Executive Committee regulations and to enact, subject to the Governing Laws, any legislation to promote the general welfare of the Fraternity.

The Westin Harbour Castle Hotel is home to the Fraternity’s 84th Grand Chapter.
