244th Independence Day Beach Run & Lunch

Come out and celebrate our nation's 244th Birthday by joining us on a brotherhood beach run and subsequent lunch!  As COVID-19 restrictions continue to ease, beaches, boardwalks, and parking lots are set to open the 2nd week of June according to state/local news.  This will be a great outdoor event where we can get some exercise and show off some Sigma Chi and American pride.  Wearing your favorite letters, rush or brotherhood t-shirts,  Blue and Old Gold, or some patriotic American colors of Red, White, and Blue is highly encouraged!

 Coordinating Instructions:

• Start/End Location:  Muscle Beach Parking Lot near Belmont Park, Mission Beach. 
• Route/Distance/Pace:  We'll run north along the beach and/or boardwalk to the PB Pier, and turn around.  It is an approximate distance of 4 miles.   With this being a all-hands unity event, the pace will be slow enough for everyone to participate and stay together as a team.
• Wear appropriate clothing for the weather and public environment.
• Bring a water source if desired.
• Lunch:  Catered sandwiches, chips, fruit, and drinks will be available after the run.   It will be an informal setting, eating in the parking lot and surrounding grass areas, so bring chairs or towels if you would like.
• Be flexible!  COVID-19 measures may effect the meet-up location and conduct of the event, but I'm confident we can execute something that is enjoyable regardless.
