Our Guest speaker is Heather Colby, PGA, LPGA Head Professional Manager of the Sea N Air golf course at Naval Air Station North Island in Coronado, CA

Heather Colby’s love for golf began at the age of 8. As a highly competitive junior golfer, she ranked number 2 in the state of Maryland for girls' golf. However, the pressure to perform led her to step away from the game during her senior year of high school. Despite this break, Heather’s passion for the game was reignited during college. After walking onto the golf team, she was quickly placed as the number one golfer but ultimately left the team due to the pressures of competition, which once again drained the joy she had for the sport.

After earning her degree in Psychology, Heather moved to Virginia with her Navy husband and pursued a Master’s degree in Human Services. However, her life took an unexpected turn when they were stationed in Spain. While there, Heather rediscovered her love for golf, playing regularly with a new group of friends. This rekindled passion led her to start teaching clinics, coaching junior players, and working at the local golf course, where her connection to the game deepened.

After returning to the states, Heather completed the PAT (Playing Ability Test) and was entered into the PGA program. Two short years later, in 2016, Heather became a PGA member. The dream of turning pro had now become a reality. Heather is now the Head Pro at Sea ‘N Air golf course living her dream job!
